Post Fiat Chronicle — May 05, 2026 - May 11, 2026
Weekly chronicle covering Post Fiat network activity and significant developments.
Protocol & Technical
The main whitepaper received a significant revision with 5 new draft variants exploring different governance approaches: black box procedure, baseline control frameworks, high-stakes trust boundaries, governance controls, and judicial clerk models (a90db65). This represents a major iteration on core protocol design philosophy.
New Orchard privacy research was published covering zero-knowledge proof implementations and privacy-preserving transaction mechanisms (9898800). The research focuses on shielded transaction pools and their integration with Post Fiat’s architecture.
Dynamic UNL validator setup documentation was updated with new guidance for node operators, including configuration requirements and network participation protocols (6e71d2870). This streamlines the onboarding process for new validators.
Phase 1 of the Dynamic UNL scoring system was marked complete in the current roadmap, indicating a major milestone in automated validator assessment capabilities (0500748). The system now supports structured network reporting and audit serialization.
Qwen 3.6 devnet scoring review was completed with new documentation covering AI-assisted validator performance evaluation (60bbd4a). This represents advancement in automated network health assessment.
New scoring prompt versions (v3 and v4) were deployed with clarified endpoint diversity criteria and structured network report generation (0660621, e6cfd22). These improve the consistency and reliability of validator scoring.
Testnet scheduling was updated with a 30-day startup delay and 4-week scoring cadence to reduce operational overhead while maintaining network integrity (11eeb76, a682399).
Dry-run scoring artifacts are now stored for review and the lifecycle has been privatized to improve operational security (3f86513).
Founder & Team
The system intensified pressure on the founder between May 4-6, demanding completion of a net-of-cost trading strategy analysis with specific deliverables: ranked table showing net Sharpe, drawdown, turnover, and fee drag metrics. The founder’s response was minimal (“f”), indicating continued resistance to this core trading gate.
A new NFT series was launched along with improvements to the Motivation and Brainstorming surfaces on May 7. Document handling was enhanced to support redacted PDFs and Word documents without backend caching of sensitive information.
The Post Fiat Chat telegram bot received significant performance improvements, making interactions substantially faster as of May 6.
A Task Node reward-flow issue was resolved during the week of May 5-11, addressing a technical problem in the reward distribution system.

Synthesis refreshed: Ecosystem Map, Founder Thesis.
The Ecosystem Map was updated to reflect Week 14 developments, adding a new NFT series, improved Motivation and Brainstorming surfaces, support for redacted PDFs and Word documents with enhanced privacy protections, a Task Node reward-flow bug fix worth 4,600 PFT, and a significant speed boost to Post Fiat Chat. The consumer product section was expanded with additional historical context spanning from March through May 2026 developments.
The Founder Thesis incorporated a new May 2026 video where Good provides a more detailed analysis of AI displacement mechanics, arguing that current employment figures mask the underlying disruption because AI CapEx investment is creating infrastructure jobs while eliminating white-collar positions. Good identifies what he calls a “power keg” dynamic where displaced knowledge workers face an impossibly high performance bar while being targeted by an accelerating distraction economy of AI-personalized entertainment and synthetic drugs. The video also documents Good’s observations about GPT Codex 5.5 crossing qualitative thresholds in financial modeling capabilities, making correct decisions about survivorship and look-ahead bias without explicit prompting, while labs aggressively subsidize compute usage to win market share.

Synthesis refreshed: Ecosystem Map, Founder Thesis.
The Ecosystem Map updated its data synthesis to include 56 primary source files and added a substantial new feature: the Hive Mind received a major update on May 1, 2026, with a dedicated tab offering personalized network intelligence including management commentary from top contributors, collaboration matching, task recommendations, and a comprehensive network asset registry with project tracking capabilities.
The Founder Thesis incorporated a new May 2026 blog post introducing the “HyperGoblinization” concept, which argues that AI model generations embed systematically different aesthetic and mythological preferences that risk creating a global monoculture of taste, with Good positioning this as further evidence that AI systems’ trained biases are exploitable signals rather than mere noise. The document also notes the founder’s May 2026 signal of re-engagement after a period of reduced development logging, indicating resumed activity on the Death March development cycle.

Terma Updates
Ingested 6 new sources this cycle.
Synthesis refreshed: Ecosystem Map, Founder Thesis, Technical Architecture.
The Ecosystem Map expanded to synthesize from 54 primary source files. The Founder Thesis incorporated insights from a late April ThreadGuy interview where Good identified the SpaceX IPO as a near-term equity catalyst, describing it as “the Trump coin” — a $1.5-1.7 trillion offering he expects will create a generational equity top before triggering capital flight into crypto. Good also highlighted the emergence of Chinese open-source AI models like Qwen 3.6 (roughly $2/hour versus Claude Opus at $80/hour) as structurally positive for crypto AI, since closed-source labs won’t route spend through permissionless protocols while open-source models will. The Technical Architecture document added support for collaborative task resources, allowing team members to share repo and doc links with evidence sharing as the default behavior.

Synthesis refreshed: Ecosystem Map, Founder Thesis.
The knowledge base received significant updates to the founder thesis documentation based on new macro intelligence from Loom’s Big Rug analysis and fresh stablecoin structural research. Three major sections were enhanced: the Doom Thesis now incorporates emerging market AI adoption patterns and how AI personalization is driving labor force participation changes that keep inflation elevated, while the Big Rug section was substantially expanded with real-time confirmation of the thesis through documented enterprise customer destruction at major AI companies and new intelligence on researcher defection risks. The Stablecoins section received critical updates framing them explicitly as Ponzi structures and off-balance-sheet money printing mechanisms, with new analysis connecting the AI/stablecoin/on-chain asset trinity to current policy targets and political self-preservation strategies. These updates strengthen the foundational macro framework that Post Fiat builders rely on for understanding the broader economic transformation context, particularly around AI disruption timelines and monetary system evolution.

- The founder shipped daily reward payout integration, iterative prompt optimization loops, and security guardrails for network task summaries during March 31-April 6 (April 8).
- A major Task Node refactor launched at tasknode.postfiat.org with cleaner dashboard task requesting, reorganized AI chat into Context/Task/Chat/Post Fiat categories, and improved context editing tools including Refine, Targeted Edit, and Full Rewrite that write directly to context docs (April 2).
- Daily payout history went live on private profiles to replace the buggy alignment score, and Discord chat integration with Task Node context was enabled through bot mentions (April 2).

- After clearing backlog, the system identified that the main bottleneck is now the missing backtest tearsheet showing whether drift, autocorrelation, and lead-lag survive realistic transaction costs, stating “the protocol is still more elegant than verified” (April 2).
Blog & Talks
